APP Spring Clinic April 28 - May 2nd Squaw Valley California

(Keep checking for updates!)

The APP 40th anniversary conference will be in full swing the week of April 28th - May 2nd 2008. We have a week jammed with events and notable speakers starting right out the gate Monday morning, April 28th, with our Risk Management forum, spotlighting some of the best of the industry with discussions about terrain Park management, accident investigation, Hill safety, Risk Management, being an effective witness, and much much more.

On Tuesday night, we have famed Yosemite climber and Adventurer, Royal Robbins joining us with a presentation: "Out of Camp IV" where he will be showing slides of some off his greatest
climbs as well as discussing some amazing skiing done over the years both in the Sierras and the Alps.

Wednesday is our "International" film festival as well as 40th anniversary party held at the exclusive High Camp at Squaw (opened just for the APP!).

And if that is not enough, on Thursday, May 1st, we'll be joined by Warren Miller who is coming to Squaw to recognize our anniversary and also receive a lifetime achievement award.

Along with all of this, we'll be holding our usual testing clinics, as well as many educational clinics throughout the week, not the mention the great spring skiing at Squaw Valley! Any and all Ski Patrollers, Risk Managers, and Volunteer Patrollers are invited to attend. Remember, the APP is all about education, and not just testing toward certified status. Patrollers of all skills and backrounds are welcome to come check out any part of this amazing 5 day conference.
Again, we are offering amnesty on back dues for previous members. 40 dollars membership dues will get you through the door for some incredible late season education and fun at the great Squaw Valley USA.

We're looking forward to seeing you, so stop by if you get a chance!

Squaw USA to Host Royal Robbins Presentation: “Out of Camp IV”
Adventures in Climbing & Skiing in Yosemite, the Sierra, and the French Alps
Tuesday, April 29

[Squaw Valley USA] April 17, 2008- The Association of Professional Patrollers (APP) proudly presents Famed Yosemite Climbing Pioneer, Writer, and Adventurer: Royal Robbins, speaking on Tuesday Evening, April 29th at 7 pm at the Olympic Village Lodge (OVL) in Squaw Valley USA.
Royal Robbins was one of the early pioneers of American rock climbing. Learning his skill at Tahquitz he moved on to put up many of the early Yosemite routes. A prolific writer, Robbins has written numerous books and influential magazine articles emphasizing a philosophy of minimal climbing equipment and maximum climbing skill. He, along with Yvon Chouinard and others, was instrumental in changing the climbing culture of the late 1960s and early 1970s to minimize overall human impact on the vertical wilderness.
Royal Robbins’ “Out of Camp IV” presentation begins at 7 pm and doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door (free for APP Members). For more information visit www.propatrollers.org. For poster flyer, click on this link: www.propatrollers.org/Royalposterweb.pdf.
This event is brought to Squaw Valley by the Association of Professional Patrollers. This season the Association of Professional Patrollers are celebrating their 40th Anniversary. www.propatrollers.org
