Association of Professional Patrollers Mid Winter Clinic

Stevens Pass Ski Area Feb 24th,25th and 26th

On Feb 24th,25th,and 26th 2009 Stevens Pass and the Stevens Pass Ski Patrol will be hosting  one of the Association of Pro Patrollers mid winter clinics. There will be 2 days of testing and 1 day for education. It is our intension to provide and fun, safe, challenging, and educational experience for all.

Feb 26th

9-4 pm Mini Educational Seminars

9-11am Jon Andrews/Avalanche Forecaster

Explosives and Avalanche Control- topics will include a walk thru of the Stevens Pass System, from forecasting, preparation, morning meet, and getting it done. Tram tour- why and how we use these systems.  A complete overview of the routes, and some rime and reason of why we do what we do.

11-12pm Chris Hunter / Dog Team Leader

Dog Demonstration- This will be an overview of our program. Then we will head out for a demonstration of the Swiss method 4 phase progression.

12-12.30 pm

12.30-2pm Brian Stanford/ Terrain Park Manager

Terrain Park Pass Program- This will be a walk thru of our program. At Stevens we have a terrain park pass program that all users have to go thru. We will demonstrate this and show off our park, the features, the design, and the thinking behind it.

2-4pm Ryan Forbes/Mountain Manager/ APP Board Member

Questions and answers pertaining to all testing categoryÕs. We will have a # of head judges and assistant judges on site to facilitate a good learning environment.

Stevens Pass is located 90miles NE of Seattle on Hwy. 2 40 miles from Leavenworth Wa which is on the East side of the mountains. 60 miles from Monroe which is on the West side of the mountains.
