About our Clinics and Events

Picture

The APP offers first class clinics, events and forums.  Each winter, the APP schedules between four and six Mid-Winter Clinics, where patrollers can take written exams, and are able to take many of the practical exams depending upon the ski conditions, weather and judge availability.  These Clinics are held over a one to three day period at first class resorts throughout the country.  At many of the Mid-Winter Clinics, the APP also puts on networking events, evening socials, special educational events and "behind the scene tours" that are unique to the particular hill hosting the Clinic.

The Spring Clinic is held in mid to late April, and is a four to five day Clinic offering the same written and practical exam opportunities at the Mid-Winter Clinics.  In addition, there is a patrol director forum, a women's forum, and evening event(s) with special guest speaker(s). Other past forums/clinics held at Mid-Winter and the Spring Clinics, include concentrations in Risk Management, Avalanche Control, Science and Demonstrations, Avalanche Rescue Dog Training, to name a few.  Each Spring Clinic also includes a special guest speaker on the last night of the Clinic, and past speakers have included world renown leaders such as Warren Miller, Peter Croft, Shane McConkey, Scott Schmidt and Royal Robbins.

Attendance at any of the Mid-Winter Clinics or the Spring Clinic also allows you to take advantage of the skiing/boarding during the Clinic at the respective hills.

There are numerous other APP-Sponsored Clinics and Events throughout the year, as well as the Annual Patrol Olympics.
