The APP is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization registered in the State of California. Our publications, clinics and programs are funded solely by the generous contributions of our many great sponsors and APP membership dues.  

So what are the benefits of joining the APP? There are many, and here are a few:  

• Continuing your patrol education may be the only reason you join the APP. The nine testing areas are the cornerstone of a good patroller.  And, at each APP Mid-Winter or Spring Clinic, you can audit practicals, take tests, network with patrollers from all over the country and participate at any of the educational seminars.  
• Speaking of educational seminars, the APP provides first class forums and are well respected by the industry.  Forums/seminars conducted in the past include Risk Management, Avalanche Control, Science and Demonstrations, Patrol Director and Women's Forums, Avalanche Rescue Dog Training and behind the scene tours of top ski resorts throughout the country.  
• The speakers at the Spring Clinic are also well known and first class, and have included: Warren Miller, Peter Croft, Shane McConkey, Scott Schmidt and Royal Robbins, Doug Robinson, to name a few.  
• Attendance at any of the Mid-Winter or Spring Clinics also allows you to take advantage of the skiing/boarding during the Clinic at the respective hills.  This means at an incredibly reduced price or sometimes even free, you can take advantage of unbelievable skiing/boarding at world renown ski resorts.   
• We also have informative newsletters, email blasts, brochures, study guides and many other materials and resources.
